About Me

about

Hello! I’m Austin Dao—a passionate engineer, coder, and lifelong learner based in California. With a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from UC Berkeley, I love building things—from robotics and programming projects to smart devices and secure systems.

My journey started in Vietnam, where I worked as a planning assistant at a Nike factory before moving to the U.S. I’m proud to have served as a U.S. Army Sergeant, leading a dedicated team and developing leadership skills that fuel my approach to engineering and collaboration today.

Technology is at the heart of everything I do. I’ve designed voice-controlled mini cars, analog amplifiers, web tools, Python games, and cybersecurity solutions—constantly experimenting and learning as I go. My blog is a space where I share not only my projects and lessons learned in tech, but also my favorite books that have shaped my thinking and inspired me along the way.

I’m an avid reader, always on the lookout for books—whether on technology, self-development, or just great stories. Here, you’ll also find my reviews, recommendations, and reflections on the books I’ve read. I hope this blog inspires fellow engineers, readers, and lifelong learners to keep exploring, building, and growing!
